COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
Bill Page has applied his MBA in Finance and decades of business leadership—including his role as a Manufacturing Controller for a Fortune 100 company—to serve and improve the Punta Gorda community for many years. He has been an active member of city advisory teams for seven years, starting with Mayor Nancy Prafke and currently with Mayor Debi Lux. His financial and organizational expertise also benefited the City Pension Board, where he served for over four years. In addition, Bill has been a dedicated member of the Burnt Store Isles Association, serving as President for three years and previously as Treasurer for four years.
In 2024, Bill played a key role in the successful campaigns of three City Council candidates Jeannine Polk, Greg Julian, and Janis Denton, serving as their Treasurer and offering strategic and financial guidance throughout their races. His community involvement extends beyond local governance; he has been the National Treasurer of Parrot Heads in Paradise for seven years and a local officer for 19 years.
BUSINESS EXPERIENCE
Bill earned his MBA in Finance while working for PPG Industries, a Fortune 100 company. He began as a General Accountant and rose through the ranks, holding increasingly senior roles across eight different business units. This diverse experience gave him a broad and deep understanding of financial operations and strategic leadership. In his final role, which he held for 20 years, Bill served as the Manufacturing Controller responsible for six plant locations and up to 38 team members. At the time he assumed leadership, the facility had received seven formal audit comments. Under his direction, the plants achieved zero audit comments, a testament to his sound decision-making and operational discipline
His leadership responsibilities extended beyond accounting to include information technology, safety, quality, value, and plant operations leadership teams. He successfully led teams implementing modern management and continuous improvement strategies.
Before his retirement, PPG sold his division to PGW, a venture capital firm focused on revitalizing the business to stay competitive in the automotive industry. This transition proved to be the most challenging and rewarding period of Bill’s career, requiring him to move beyond traditional accounting and embrace innovative, out-of-the-box problem solving.
EARLY YEARS AND EDUCATION
Bill worked his way through Ohio University, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration. Originally planning to major in education and coaching, a late-in-the-game accounting class changed his direction and sparked a lifelong career in finance and business. It was at Ohio University where he met his wife, Ann. In 2025, they celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary.
Born and raised in Dover, Ohio, a town of just over 12,000 residents in northeastern Ohio, Bill excelled both academically and athletically in high school. He was a member of the National Honor Society, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and served as editor of the school newspaper. Graduating in the top 10% of his class, he was also a three-sport athlete—competing in football, wrestling, and baseball. As a senior, he captained both the football and wrestling teams, earning statewide honors.
FINDING HOME IN PUNTA GORDA
For more than 30 years, Bill and Ann spent their vacations scouting the perfect retirement destination, traveling across the southeastern U.S. and the Caribbean. Two years before retirement, they still hadn’t found "the place." That changed when they returned to their first timeshare—Lahaina Inn on Fort Myers Beach—for one more look around the area.
There, Bill was struck by the sight of homes with sailboats docked in the backyard—a lifestyle he had never considered but instantly loved. Over dinner with singer-songwriter Jim Morris and his wife, Sharon, Bill shared his excitement and concern that it might be out of reach. Jim laughed and told him he was looking in the wrong place—he needed to check out Punta Gorda. At the airport on the way home, Bill opened Zillow. The search was on—and this time, it felt right.
Bill retired in January 2017, sold their Ohio home, and moved with Ann into their new Punta Gorda home on February 27, 2017.
A LIFE OF SERVICE AND LEADERSHIP

With a passion for service and a deep love for the community he now calls home, he continues to work for the betterment of Punta Gorda and all who live there.
